We cannot start this post without giving a huge congratulations to Jerome C. Rousseau for his recent piece on Vogue.com highlighting his Fall/Winter 2010 preview. The Vogue editors loved the collection, and we definitely know why. Rousseau plays with such funky shapes and is un-afraid to take risks in his design aesthetic. The result is truly fabulous, a collection full of shoes that not only inspire, but leave me wishing I could just purchase the entire line at once.

For Fall/Winter 2010, Rousseau turned to the 70s for inspiration. From disco glam to hippie tie-dye, the era is omnipresent throughout this collection. He also created a very interesting bootie, which has an architecture that may define an entire new category of booties. The denim tie-dye appearance of this shoe is chic, and the coloring refined enough to make denim on the feet totally wearable.

While Rousseau has many classic styles in his collection, many of his shoes are anything but ordinary. However, as off the radar as they go, he makes sure to keep his lines clean and his shoes wearable for the most fashionable women. He seeks truly to create new ideas in the footwear industry, instead of solely relying on the work of others. This upcoming season of Jerome C. Rousseau’s collection shows some serious growth as the designer delves into many new categories and utilizes new materials. The result is a total win, that we cannot wait to see in stores.
