Hall of Shame: Christian Louboutin “Fifre 120” Bootie vs. Steve Madden “Trumpit” Bootie
Sadly, I have another Hall of Shame to share with you. Christian Louboutin’s “Fifre 120″ Bootie was one of my favorite shoes from Fall/Winter 2009/10, and I was very disappointed to see that Steve Madden had made a knock-off of it.
From what I can tell, the Steve Madden is almost an exact copy of the Christian Louboutin. The only thing Steve Madden didn’t copy was Christian Louboutin’s signature red sole. And, of course, the quality of materials and workmanship will not compare at all.
If you love the look of this bootie, please don’t buy the copycat! The Christian Louboutin Bootie will go on sale eventually, or you can find a less expensive suede bootie from another designer! You can search The Shoe Goddess to find all the booties we’ve reviewed lately, many of which are inexpensive!
Christian Louboutin “Fifre 120″ Bootie $1,195 Barneys
Steve Madden “Trumpit” Bootie $150 Zappos

Just an idea, if you want to discourage purchase of the knock-off, don’t put a link to where you can purchase it! I too hate knock-off’s – especially from established brands that make it all too easy for shadier companies to gain traction.
Steve Madden is notorious for this, I’m surprised I’ve not heard about a lawsuit yet. The designers have enough to worry about with replica sites and when an established name is stealing your designs it really is a shame.
Actually, McQueen has a suit against Madden right now. As you said, Steven Madden is notorious for blatant rip offs of others designs. I don’t think their creative team has ha an original thought in years.
this is crazy.
Wow, I thought, geez that Steve Madden on the left looks crap compared to the Louboutin on the right. How wrong I was! And although I don’t actually like the shoe, I would probably pick the Madden judging from these pictures, even though I hate fakes.
i agree with you jamie. before i scrolled down, i picked the bootie to the right.
there have been a few obvious knock offs done by madden but this one comes in pretty close…
Bought a really cute bootie from BCBG and then found it on Steve Madden as well. Exact replica and available in same colors. Closer look at it it is not the same quality in workmanship as the BCBG tho. You see strings and imperfections, but still ticked me off.
Yeah, it really is getting more and more difficult to tell the original from the copy. I’ve have chosen the Madden as the better quality from the pics too! It’s almost getting to the point that if you want to be absolutely certain that the product you’re buying is authentic you have to purchase it in a reputable retail store, where you can examine it up close.
You people have got it all wrong, what is so terrible about selling a knockoff? It’s not like this type of shoe is so innovative, I think looks quite victorian actually, but even if it was – so what?! It just sounds to me that you feel like suckers for paying so much money for the real thing when the knockoff is that close.
If you like the quality and craftsmenship of a top brand and are willing to pay the price, that’s fine and you should enjoy yourself, but don’t lift your snotty noses up at people who can’t afford the high-end shoes but still wanna look trendy – like most of the world.
Hi Nikka
You are missing the whole point here, we are criticizing people of lesser means, we are just pointing out brands that are making knock off when they could create a maybe similar design but still with a little personal input.
Cheers

Nikka beleive it or not in my case the Steve Madden actually cost more than the BCBG shoe. It is a matter of principal be original and have an original thought. Don’t copy someone else’s vision. You wouldn’t copy a book and call it your own don’t do it in a shoe.
My BCBG had just gone on sale by the way that was why it was cheaper.
Hello I am new here but completly agree with you hate copies.
kiss
Wow!… I’m usually very good at identifying more expensive items but I have to take my hat off to Steve Madden, he’s made a better job of the shoe than CL in this case…. but yes, he has ripped off the CL boot. Feel sad that you guys have paid more for the Steve Madden than the CL and missed out on the red sole too. Perhaps a return to store might be in order.
I agree with both arguing parties….One one hand I understand how if you paid $1200.00 for a shoe (somebody’s rent), you may not want other skizzys prancing around in a shoe double. But on the other hand, I am a hard working fahionista and I still cannot afford to rock the CL version…..So I may go ahead and purchase the double…I also agree that Steve Madden and thier team should tweak the design and make it thier own, like a recording artist would re-make a song, but make it work for thier style…IDK…I am torn, not everyone is Carrie Bradshaw ya know?
Correction, the shoes are $1,195 not $1,500 as I posted. It still makes me sick.
looks like the Louboutin has a deeper slit in the middle, which makes the buttons kind of functional. the steve madden has not provided enough room for the slit effect to happen. which means that upon wearing it, the SM will be flat in front….
just a thought
the steve madden also does not have the little dimples above the toes where the toe cleavage is meant to be…
