Fabulous Giveaways: Dekkori Footwear Accessories
***Contest closed! Stay tuned for future giveaways!***
For our January giveaway, we have a great, new accessory line to introduce to you! Dekkori was founded by Stephanie Kim, a shoe fanatic, who like many of us was running low on shoe funds and space to store all the shoes she bought!
Stephanie created Dekkori to provide accessories that would transform the shoes you already have, saving money and keeping your shoes trendy! I think the line is amazing, and it’s incredibly fun thinking about matching these great accessories with the shoes in your closet!
For our giveaway, Dekkori has generously offered to give one lucky reader two pieces from the accessory line: the “Caprice” Mid-Rise Boot and the “Innocence” Bow (see pictures below)! In this economy, many of us have had to reduce our shoe budgets or think of creative ways to keep our wardrobes trendy, so I thought it would be great to share our ideas!
To enter this contest, please share any tips you have for being a Frugal Fashionista! The contest will run through January 31, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. EST! We will select a winner randomly from all the entries!
Good luck to everyone, and I can’t wait to read your tips! In the meantime, be sure to check out the Dekkori Website! You can also find Dekkori accessories at Endless, Pink Mascara and Revolve Clothing!

I make sure to buy clothes that are double purpose like the wrap/cardigan from Victoria’s Secret. It ups the mileage of my closet.
Wow… I’d love to rock those cool shoe accessories! I keep a list of the items I’m saving up for, whether it’s a new handbag, a new pair of boots, or some designer sunglasses. It keeps me focused and prevents me from rashly purchasing some random piece that I find on sale. I’m trying to focus on building my wardrobe with fewer, high-quality pieces that will last for years, and that’s how I stay a Frugal Fashionista!
Thanks for the chance to win, Shoe Goddesses!
I love neutral colors, like beige, black and blues, but I like to splash a bit of color usually with my scarfs. Im addicted to scarfs and have them in all colors
hugs!
When I s shop, I try to buy pieces that I think are versatile and can be worn at different occasions. Also I go on code sites like retailmenot and look for codes when I am shopping online. I also use a lot of coupons that I find in magazines and newspapers. And I sign up for newsletters from websites, because that can contain coupons to stores that I like too. Also I go on bargain sites to see if there are deals that I shouldnt miss out on.
Completely FAB shoe accessories! I am dying for these!
I have found a couple of fantastic ways to be frugal and still fashionable. Fab accessories can make an outfit more versatile. I wear different colorful scarves to brighten up neutrals around my neck, as belts, or in my hair. I will wear long sleeve basic shirt or a turtleneck under a spring dress to give it more mileage. I also have been threading different colored ribbons through my chain jewelry to give it a new look.
I have several as I am a single mother and need to fuel my shoe addiction on a limited budget.
fist I shop at places such as daffy’s Burlington Coat Factory and Marshall’s. I look for items that can also be discounted. I once bought a pair of lamb shoes for 62 (retail for 385) because they were had smudge marks on them. I took them to the cashier and they offered me that steep discount. I then took the shoe home and applied a shoe cleaner to the marks and they came right off.
When stores have buy one get one I split the grand total with a friend, that way we each have a great shoe at a discounted price.
If i have purchased an item and I see the item is on sale at a later (reasonable amount) time, i return the item for store credit, then repurchase the item at the sale price and use the remaining store credit.
I always hit the clearance rack first.
And I absolutely love thrift and consignment shops.
The thrift store is a great place to find hip and fashionable clothing and accessories for a really good or reasonable price. Also the money also goes to good causes!
Hit the clearance racks always and thrift stores. And learning to sew for minor repairs like shortening a hem or taking in a jacket are beyond helpful for saving money.
In the spirit of Dekkori, I find inexpensive necklaces and bracelets, from thrift stores and places like H&M and Aldo, and use them to change the look of shoes that I already own, instead of simply buying a new pair of shoes simply for the decorative elements it has.
I prefer to do most of my shopping online. I never pay full price for anything. I look for websites that offer revolving daily deals at steep markdowns, and sign up for free emails that let me know when brands I like are on sale. My favorite resource is ebay. Any time I want to purchase something I check ebay first! Ebay is also great when you want to make a little extra cash, and clean out your closet at the same time!
I like to try to limit my purchases to classic pieces that will go with most anything! I also like to make my own clothing from time to time – that way, you can get exactly what you want, and for really cheap. Fabric runs about $5 a yard! Altering pieces that you already own is also a great way to spice up your wardrobe without spending much at all.
frugal fashionista, eh? well, i am a college student now with no time for a job. for the past few months i have shopped with every paycheck i got. now i have a closet full of clothes i have yet to wear. so my idea of being frugal is branching out, wearing my new styles, rocking’ new looks and getting use out of what i have with the occasional trip to a store like marshall’s for a discounted pair of shoes or designer jeans. it’s all about making the look with what you got and i know i got it.

I only shop when Dillard’s has an extra 30% off their sale items and then I ONLY go to the 70% off racks. It may only occur every other month or so, but I really look forward to it!

The shoe accessories are such a GREAT idea! Love Love Love. I buy most of jewelry accessories at Charlotte Russe, Forever 21 and the Brass Plum section of Nordstrom- you find some really great pieces at CHEAP prices. I do buy things I really want and won’t regret. But, no longer on impulse. And, seriously- Target is a wonderland!
wow, beautiful accessories! I love shopping thrift stores and upcycle old clothes that I don’t wear anymore…hunting for bargains prolongs the “shopping high” and is good for you purse! (now if only my closet would close ..;))

I buy most of my clothes when they’re on sale and I buy affordable basic pieces in lots of colors. That way, I can just mix and match with accessories and when I want a different look, I can throw on a scarf, jacket or cardigan.
My best advice that I have to offer that I also use myself is that when making any purchase, even an inexpensive one, ponder for a moment whether it is something that you will only wear for one month as a quickly fading trend or if its something you really like that you will keep for a long time. I try not to buy lots of things that are very of-the-moment because I know in a few months I will never want to wear it again, and that’s just a waste of money!!! xoxoxox

I only buy when I really to replace an item or to update a look. I stick to buying in opposite seasons when the clothes are more on sale.

I think it’s important to buy cloth that are classic that can go from day to night and make it hip/trendy with accessories (scarves, jewelry, shoes). Also shop online or at stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Loehmans. If you shop at department stores again keep it classic and shop at the end of the season.
I stock up on something I know I will wear a million times when it’s on sale, like white and black tanks or cardigans. I’m definitely the “buy a couple of the same thing in different colors” girl.
I stay frugal by shopping for lots of basics, because they can be worn both on casual outfits and for more dressy ones too. I love how you can mix and match basics with so many different styles and still have a completely fashionable look. Also, I shop for quality, because even though it may be a bit pricier to buy, it pays off in the long run because you don’t have to buy another cheap item that will continue to fail you.
I am no Frugal shopper, but I do make sure that when I shop, there’s SALE written somewhere I can see! These days you are sure to find great deals and steals everywhere. One of my secret tricks is to find the style name and maker of the item (prefferably shoes!) and search it on Amazon.com. I have saved $40.00 to 100.00 on various items from fashion to home goods, by simply ordering it from Amazon. It’s like they give you the wherehouse price for the same goods others carry for full price. My motto; Check amazon before you add to cart!
