Shoe Roundup: October 11, 2009
Next week will be a busy week for The Shoe Goddess, as Florence and Samantha are headed to London and then on to Paris! We’ll definitely keep you posted on their adventures! But, in the meantime, here’s a little recap of what happened this week!
We started the week with Florence’s Pick of the Week, this amazing Jil Sander Thigh-High Boot. As Florence mentioned, this is a great thigh-high boot for women of any height. In other words, you don’t have to be 6 feet tall to wear these boots well!

Hall of Shame was created to call out those companies that blatantly sell knockoffs. Just to be clear, we certainly don’t have a problem with inexpensive shoes, but we do have a problem with stealing someone else’s work! This week, we take a look at Martinez Valero’s “Zenith” which is a dead ringer for Manolo Blahnik’s “Something Blue,” which was featured in Sex and the City, the movie.

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a cause near and dear to our hearts at The Shoe Goddess. In honor of this, we are hosting a month of prevention-themed giveaways! You can find this week’s contest here, and look for a new giveaway each week this month!
If you’re looking for other ways to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, take a look at these super cute Limited Edition Keds Pink Ribbon Champion Canvas Sneakers. One hundred percent of the profits from these shoes will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide.

My favorite shoe this week has got to be this DSquared2 “Frou Camoscio” Peep-Toe Ankle Boot. It is truly gorgeous, and I love its romantic, vintage feel!

This week I agree with Florence again, and my least favorite shoe is sadly this Christian Louboutin Velvet and Ostrich Ankle Boot. It had potential, but it’s just too busy, and I really don’t like the combination of the velvet and ostrich skin.

Thanks for the great roundup. What’s going on with all these knock offs? Manolo and Stuart, Madden and McQueen? Ridiculous. Anyway, I agree with your favorite pick, and I adore the DSquared2 as well!
