Emilio Pucci Spring 2010
Peter Dundas has taken the reigns from Matthew Williamson at Emilio Pucci, and has taken his background at Emanuel Ungaro, Roberto Cavalli, and Christian Lacroix to revamp Pucci’s design aesthetic. Pucci, made famous in the 1960s and 1970s for its kaleidoscope prints, has always been a fun, loud brand, but it is not necessarily eponymous with the red carpet.
However, the Spring 2009 collection that Dundas debuted for Pucci in Milan is absolutely red-carpet worthy. Dundas didn’t shy away from flash (as it is Pucci’s signature), but he used relatively less of Pucci’s classic prints and rather used more updated, feminine, and modern prints and shapes.
His best looks put forth on the runway were his flowy, long dresses clearly made for the runway and the red carpet. The dresses will go perfect with a spring breeze, as the skirts blow gracefully in the wind.
This collection is certainly a great one, and Dundas has definitely made his mark on the timeless fashion brand.
