Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear
As usual, the Dolce and Gabbana fashion show was extraordinary. For Spring 2010, Dolce and Gabbana juxtaposed feminine with masculine, showcasing both power suits and tight, girlish dresses.
Dolce and Gabbana seem to have taken inspiration from Spain. The tailored suits seem to be a feminine version of a bull fighter’s uniform; a style that is an exciting take on the power suit. The dresses also seem to have Spanish influence, as the models sauntered down the runway in flamenco get-ups.
The color scheme is rather minimalistic, as Dolce and Gabbana kept the majority of the collection in black and white. Towards the end of the show, as keeping with the Spanish theme, they threw in some beautiful red prints.
While Dolce and Gabbana used satin as the main fabric, their use of lace was my absolute favorite among the collection. The feminine lace makes this collection in particular stand out among all of the Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collections.
