At the MET With Christian Louboutin!
The Costume Institute Gala at the MET was a fabulous affair. Everything looked spectacular…well, almost everyone. There are always a few misses in the crowd, but as for the hits, there were plenty. But now, let’s talk more about the shoes worn on the red carpet.Â
Not a huge surprise to anyone, those famous red soles made a widespread appearance. Celebrities, models and designers from Jessica Biel, Elizabeth Banks, Bar Rafaeli, Ivanka Trump, Miranda Kerr and even Philip Lim stepped out in some of Louboutin’s best. While they all looked fantastic (well, Philip Lim was not my favorite for sure), we wanted to highlight Christian Louboutin’s hottest on the red carpet.Â
Let’s start with a woman who is truly a super model, Shalom Harlow. Shalom stepped out in the Madame Claude Patent Peep Toe D’Orsay Pump, which looked very chic with her black ensemble. While the outfit may not be for everyone, Shalom pulls it off beautifully. It definitely helps that she is gorgeous, tall and thin!

Next up, we have Catherine McNeil in the Circus Booties. Now, these shoes may be my new favorite bootie ever! They are so chic, and I love the sheer detailing, making this almost a semi-gladiator, but way more sophisticated. With Roland Mouret as her date, Catherine McNeil stood tall and beautiful in these booties. I absolutely adore the nude effect, because it almost looks like a pair of tights under a sandal, but they work together beautifully!Â

Next up, we have two of the Marchesa girls, the gorgeous Georgina Chapman and the beautiful Karen Craig, both donning the Great Sir Louboutin. Karen Craig opted for a more structured, simple look in the Amelissa Patent Leather Sandal. I love the shape of her dress, and gold and black always work perfectly together, but the best part of her outfit was the shoes. Yes, they are simple, but they match perfectly with the whole ensemble. They are a bit retro, and the architecture of the shoe is simple enough to go with anything, but stands out as well.
Lastly is the stunning Mrs. Chapman. Now, I have to say, Florence and I have been DYING over these shoes. Talk about a ballerina shoe—these are just plain HOT! We only have a picture in bright red, but the shoes on the carpet were hot, hot pink, which is the perfect color when you’re making ballet look sexy. This is a ballerina heel done right. There have been many variations, but this is a HIT. I don’t even care (well, I do), what Louboutin’s next collection holds, because these shoes hold a special place in my heart. They looked absolutely perfect on the Marchesa designer, with her little pink dress. She looked like a flower: feminine, chic and very classy. I know it took a while to get here, but I had to save the best for last. The Lolo Pumps are a win.
